WCG is a worldwide company dedicated to advancing the interests of other industries, including those in the fields of entertainment and health care. Jim Weiss had already amassed 25 years of experience in the health care industry when he founded WeissCom Group, the original name of the company, in 2001. Since opening its first office in San Francisco, WCG has established outlets in six other American states, including New York and Texas, and one in London. After acquiring the creative services agency ODA and the social media consulting firm CommonSense Media in 2009, WeissCom adopted its current name. WCG specializes in such areas as branding, design, marketing and corporate public affairs, striving to satisfy both the communications and marketing needs of industries throughout the world. WCG was in 2011 named as the Global Health Care Agency of the Year and, two years later, as the North American Agency of the Year, receiving both honors from the Holmes Report, a newsletter that monitors public relations industries.
